A big ‘ol Ghostbusters paycheck wasn’t strong enough to pull Rick Moranis out of his three-decade-long retirement, but the promise of a second Spaceballs movie managed to get the job done. 

On Thursday, Amazon MGM announced that a sequel to Mel Brooks’ beloved Star Wars parody is set to hit theaters in 2027. The long-awaited follow-up will feature both Brooks, who will be roughly 101 years old at the time of the film’s release, and Moranis, who will reprise his role as Dark Helmet in his first big-screen stint since Big Bully back in 1996. 

Speaking of beloved ‘80s pop-culture figures, Bryce Dallas Howard opened up about her experience, or lack thereof, with Happy Days. During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, the Black Mirror star revealed that she “still hadn’t gotten around” to watching the sitcom that made her father, Ron Howard, a household name. “I know. It’s so rude,” she admitted to Bravo overlord Andy Cohen.
